Unlucky. That is just too sad.
You did your best, but unfortunately you can’t breathe life back into the little gastropod.
“Sorry about that,” you say, handing his gross tiny body back to his grieving mother. “Circle of life and all that.”
The slug mother is understandably furious. “Murderer!” she cries. “I call upon the wrath of our queen to give me vegeance! Slugella! Come to my aid.”
That doesn’t sound good. You decide to run for it, swiftly but carefully picking your way past the other slugs. You make it without killing any more, but as you reach the slug free part of the passageway, a huge and fierce creature oozes its way through a gap in the brick work.
It is Slugella, the slugs’ warrior queen! She doesn’t have a face, but you can tell by the way she’s waving her deadly looking spear that she’s pretty angry with you. Not as angry or formidable as if you’d killed more of her subjects, but angry just the same.
