“All finished with the rules brave adventurer?” Skullcrusher asks, which is a question that works nicely whether you’ve decided to learn the rules or ignore them.

“Yes I am,” you reply.

“Well in that case, I’d better give you an adventure. Head out the back door there, go down the road for about half a mile, take a left, go up the hill and there’ll you’ll find Honk Hollow. It’s a dungeon full of treasure, positively bursting with loot of all kinds. There’s also an evil boss running the place and he’s a real menace, a lord of darkness that could do with slaying.”

“Sounds perfect,” you say. “I’ll head off now. I do have a question though. Will there be any bandits on the road?”

The inn keeper lets out a condescending but good-natured laugh. “Oh young adventurer,” he says. “There are always bandits.”
